WowThankYou was launched on 5 March 2010 to give exposure and sales to small UK non-mass produced artisans. Originally set up by two friends – both stay-at-home mums who wanted to do something to champion home-grown talent, especially after repeated frustration of not being able to find unique, ‘different’ gifts online in one place – the website is now run solely by Tracey Kifford.
Tracey’s background is in business journalism, having worked as a publisher for the healthcare division of the Financial Times before turning freelance 15 years ago to escape the daily London commute. Though successful in this change of career direction, WowThankYou came about after a deep-seated desire to conceive, design, launch, manage and market a project in its entirety from the very beginning.
With the ongoing support of many talented web developers, graphic designers, advertising and marketing professionals, WowThankYou continues to grow and develop into the site you see today.
Our key marketing objective is to attract the non-crafting general public to buy UK designed and made gifts rather than mass produced imported shopping centre fodder. We work with the sellers on WowThankYou to help promote them, and when they join us they become part of our team.
WowThankYou’s long-term ambition is to become an online department store, where a customer can source pretty much anything – but where every item is designed and made on a small scale within the United Kingdom.
