Seashore Brooch
A simple summer pallete of colours combined with rich textures! Shells and seaweed grouped with small pebbles against a textured background.
A hand woven fabric has been used as the background for this brooch. The yarns used are cottons and cotton blends, of varying thicknesses and some of them slubbed. Small shells and beads have been stitched in groups on the background. Seaweed is embroidered and enhanced with more beads. Pin wheels suggest small stones or perhaps sea urchins.
The brooch is reinforced with heavy interfacing and the back is neatened with felt. A brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
