The Old Button (Y Hen Botwm in Welsh) is inspired by a box of old buttons my grandmother gave me when I started making my own clothes as a child. I still have this box and keep it well stocked with buttons salvaged from old clothes and the occasional modern quirky design that catches my eye.

I make an eclectic mix of high quality hand crafted items for children and the home, combining two of my passions - creating new designs and a thrifty use of materials. I like to use both new and recycled fabrics including 100% cotton, silk and linen mixtures together with scraps from my ever expanding hamper of interesting fabrics that is constantly topped up by my friends and family.

As I love the design aspect of creating, I am always coming up with new ideas for products and only make a limited number. Often items are unique, as I love playing with fabric and colour combinations, and adding different trims. And of course, I try and incorporate an old button or two into each item I make.

Depending on the reason for return, you may need to cover return postage, and personalised/custom items may incur a return charge if I need to alter before offering for re-sale.

I offer free UK postage (usually first class) and a fixed postal charge of £4 for overseas delivery ( I will use air mail or courier depending on size).
I try and recycle packing where I can.

I will post out within 3 working days of cleared payment for items in stock and ready to ship. Personalised items (adding names or adjusting design) will take a little longer - see posting for details.Custom items that are designed and made from scratch will take between 2-4 weeks to make, depending on complexity and how many orders I have.
