Up-cycled - this striking denim blue patchwork tote bag has been made from completely recycled fabrics, combining an old pair of jeans with a Liberty Tana Lawn cotton blouse. The front of the bag has lovely blue Liberty Tana Lawn squares which are backed with dark denim patches cut from the jeans leg and sewn with the seams on the outside to create a distressed fringed look. The back panel of the bag was cut from one of the legs of the jeans opened out, with a top border featuring the Liberty print fabric. The bag is fully lined in a toning blue/green cotton from an old shirt and I've added a couple of old wooden buttons from my Grandmother's button box. Strong denim handles are securely machined to the bag. This is quite a generous bag and fairly long - it is approx 18 inches wide and 25 inches tall including the handles. Care: I suggest you hand wash and line dry this bag. You can machine wash and tumble if you wish, but the bag will continue to fray - I suggest you place in an old pillowcase to catch the bits of cotton. Medium iron, fluffing the denim fringing with your fingers after ironing.
