So, tell us a bit about yourself and your business.
I look after the marketing for Unique Jewellery and ensure that our products are seen by everyone. The owners of the company put a lot of hard work into the business, they design, hand finish and personally check over all of our products before they are sent out.
Unique Jewellery was created because Lise (one of the owners) wanted a photo in a charm for her Pandora bracelet, she couldn’t find one so looked into creating them; thus the Unique Jewellery Photo Charm was created. After a lot of hard work and angry evenings trying to get the process 100% correct it finally clicked and since then the business has just continuously grown.
How has your business changed and developed since it started?
When the business started it was just Matt and Lise (the owners) there are now another 3 of us who help with different aspects of the business whilst Matt and Lise continue with designing and creating the jewellery.
Where do you draw inspiration from for your designs and product range?
Our inspiration comes from Pandora, without them we would not have a product and would never have had the inspiration in the beginning.
What are you working on at the moment? Anything new coming up to your on-line shop?
We have a selection of new charms which are currently in production, as soon as we have availability dates these will be available for pre order.
So, where does all this takes place? What’s your workspace like?
The workspace for the charm development and completion is in Matt and Lise’s home in Portsmouth, this is the main hub for the business operations. There is a workshop built into their loft space to ensure that their work is kept separate from their everyday home life.
What are your hopes, plans or ambitions for the future?
Hopes and plans for the future are to expand the business and make it a company that has many employees and is recognised by many people all over the world. We want everyone to have at least one Photo Charm on their bracelets.
